To me, plastic surgery is pure art! Ever since I started my training as a plastic surgeon at the Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, I fell in love with and became fascinated by plastic surgery for its ability to transform, repair, and beautify.

The title of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon provides me with the opportunity to do just that: Repair, beautify, and reconstruct. It's wonderful and thrilling to see how in just a few hours in an operating room, you can transform a body and therefore a life.

Witnessing people regain lost function, repair their skin by closing a wound that seemed impossible to close, reposition facial bones, remove a tumor, pull through a burn patient, or improve someone's physical appearance is simply a wonderful job.

It's not just about healing, repairing, or improving a body or some of its functions. It's about giving a person back their confidence, self-esteem, and in many cases, returning patients to a useful life.
